About YoD

If you are wondering what the Year of Denim is all about you have come to the right place.

Wanna chat? Email me at jampolk@mail.com or call me in Sydney, Australia on 0414 464 652.

For a year, from my birthday on April 30, 2009, I wore denim every day.
Not simply a pair of jeans though.
I committed to wearing a denim top, a denim bottom and at least 1 denim accessory… EVERY DAY. Not double but TRIPLE denim!

And I don’t just mean blue  denim.
All shades of denim count, as does fake denim, faux denim, the phenomenon of jeggings (legging that look like jeans)  and anything printed to resemble denim.
Like this lovely piece of polyester I  bought a few years ago in Ballina.

Hi Jane….what a great idea! I am from the Inner West Courier newspaper. We would love to book you in for a photo, have a chat and write up a story if you’d be interested. If so could you forward your contact details to my email addy?

    Kind regards,

    Rowan Cowley (Inner West Courier)

Dear Jane, I could hardly recognise you with your clothes on! Your idea and website are strangely fascinating… and I can watch your posture everyday without leaving the office. Any problems you have must be in your genes. You just need a denim yoga band to complete your outfit.

    Keep on deniming,
    Alex

      Dear Alex
Thank you for your kind comments.
However I am uncertain about when you have EVER seen me with my clothes off!
      Please explain!
And I hope that I can remain fascinating for another 358 days…

This seems a quite mental thing to do but your outfits have amused me! What about the heat & potential thrush risk? Well, keep up the good work – the shirt above is indeed a thing of beauty 😉

    • jampolk says:

I am currently in sunny Queensland, and thrush is a definite possibility. so I have gone to the denim skirt as it gets better circulation downstairs.

I’ve been loving your adventures. me and my ladyfriend discuss them regularly. last night we were wondering if you have denim pijamas?

Also, i can’t wait to see what happens as the weather warms up. Will you be wearing denim boobtubes?

Summer is really beginning to worry me.
If you followed my blog on a recent holdiday you’ll see every day is a day of vest.
Apart from 1 day where I wore a denim ‘playsuit’…

      Day 120: Thursday 27 August

However, being a busty girl frequent braless wear is tricky and not very comfy. So I don’t think a denim boob tube will have more than a guest appearance here.
However if you see one let me know…..

  5. esther says:

yeah the playsuit was totally awesome. i sympathise with the braless issue.. same here. but i respect the lengths you will go to.

    Jane………

You’re like a good wine…. better, and better with age. Glad to see you’re still at it and mad as ever.

    Hope all is good.

    Rowena 🙂

Thought you might enjoy this particularly nice example of parents in denim…

Nature looks on fire up there with provocative poses, birds, fish and dogs. We have awful colds, so the navy stripe denim bag is on the back-burner. Much love your Mum

Weather has been perfect, apart form the nor’ easters howling in the afternoons, the sandflies and mosquitoes. But you’d know all about that.
